Abstract


This study aims to investigate theinfluence of such factor as: leadership and the phisycal condition of the work environment on jobsatisfaction of Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City. The research variables are: leadership and workenvironment as independent variables and job satisfaction as the dependent variable. The methodsof analysis used in this research is descriptive statistical method and multiple regression analysis.The results shows that the factors of leadership,promotion policy and the condition of the workenvironment are significant which partially and impartially influence job satisfaction of officials.The value of determinant coefficient (R2) of 0,763 indicates that 76,3% of the variation of the jobsatisfaction can be explained by the independent variable and the remaining 23,7% is explainedby other factors beyond the model. Meanwhile, the correlation value (R) of 0,881 indicates thatsuch factors as leadership and condition of work environment altogether have a very close andstrong relationship with job satisfaction.
